  3. ViennaForever says:

Love it. It’s entertaining. Pure and simple. People have spent centuries inventing dance, integrating it with music. This style of dance married with the style of ‘Hollywood musical’ production from decades past creates a spectacle that shouldn’t be getting anything but praise.

It’s *just* Bollywood. Every movie is a musical

    this is shit

  13. preetajohn says:

Actually, they aren’t musicals. They have song and dance and sometimes events and scenes play out during the songs but none of the dialogue is delivered through song! It progresses like a regular film and the songs play in between Songs are always released before the films to popularize the release of the film! :D

  14. preetajohn says:

    Nimbooda Nimbooda Nimbooda!
    Lemon Lemon Lemon!

Arre Kaacha Kaacha Chota Chota Nimbooda Layi do!
Bring me a raw, small Lemon!

Arre! layi do layi do layi do! Nimboo Layi do!
(“Layi do” means “bring it for me” so I guess it would be silly to type that thrice for this sentence :D )

Ja Kheth se Hariyala Nimbooda layi do!
Go bring me an unripened(green) lemon from the fields!

  15. preetajohn says:

The deal with the lemon is that Hindu’s believe that when someone says or thinks something wonderful about another, there is always hidden jealousy and a bad vibe ( “buri nazar” – literally “bad gaze” or “evil eye”) passed on to the object of said thoughts/words, and a consequent fear that the person will lose the admired quality. So the woman in the video is trying to find a lemon(which removes the evil eye) so she can be safe from all the admiring glances from the men! :D
