Some say that singing well is a gift you are either given at birth or not at all. I say that is nonsense. Sure, you may not be the next Beyonce but anyone, given the right training can learn the ability to sound great when they sing.
But training is expensive right? Finding the money to pay for a professional singing coach is difficult for most aspiring singers who usually dont have much money. Hiring a singing coach can cost you many hundreds of dollars over the duration of your training.
Singing tutors also tend to be a little bit stuffy about their profession. Most are classically trained vocalists who failed to make a dent in the more glamorous side of their chosen career and a very strict about the techniques employed.
This type of vocal coaching can turn many students away from learning how to sing. Feeling like you are a young student again with a strict teacher can make the experience uncomfortable but many singing tutors simply dont know any better or how to get the best out of their students.
Most people have tried teaching themselves to sing with the aid of CDs or DVDs. Although these media do offer some assistance and are certainly better than reading a book on how to sing, the experience is usually over too quickly and doesn’t go into any great depth. So what is the best way?
Sure, you get what you pay for with learning materials. A DVD on how to sing may set you back about thirty dollars and you might enjoy the experience for a while but is it going to nurture you and bring out the unique beautiful voice thats inside you? No, it won’t be able to do that.
What if you just wanted to improve your ‘natural’ voice? Everyones voice is unique and everyone wants to use their voice for different purposes. They dont want to sound the same. They want to sound unique, but better.
But dont ever give up on your passion. If singing is something you’ve always done no matter how badly, you can get better. With the right training you can get up confidently infront of many people and amaze them with your wonderful, but unique singing style.
